The memories I have Of You

As you held me tight

I could smell the cigarette that was just

against your lips

I can still remember the sound of

your heart beat

As I slowly fell asleep

I can remember the way you comforted me

When I wouldn't stop crying

I can still feel the cold necklace as I laid

my head on your chest

I remember the cold metallic taste of the

angel necklace as I’d suck on it

for that was the only way to calm me down

I remember the way the Tabu

perfume stuck to you after you sprayed it on

The memories I have at age four are vague

But the memories I have of you will never fade

This is about my grandma, she died from cancer at a young age. I dont remember a lot but the things I do make me hold on to the memories a little tighter everyday
