Sharp edged dream murderers
Barbed wire is nothing but cruel fate
Piercing through a delicate heart

The shivers from the wind shake the wired killers
A serenade to all the lives they have destroyed
What is left of this broken fence now?

Innocence punished for laughing
Beauty punished for being
Tears punished for feeling
The best of humanity acts as a footstool
What is left of this worn fence now?

Aspirations are rooted beneath that yard
Ready to reveal it’s wrathful grace to the unforgiven

Through the weapon of obstruction
Newborn blossoms erupt within its bitter string
Each and every stem reaches out beyond the wire that keeps it hostage

Innocence now rejoices in a song of songs
Beauty now twirls circles in a rain puddle
Tears now relieved and recalled
A newfound garden is what is left of this fence now

My message is the hope that a person gains for a new and better life after encountering/suffering from times of war.
