The Light in the Night

The shape of the past is like a small jar of lightning bugs used as a nightlight.

It tastes like cold that makes your mouth feel warmth;

soaring through your tastebuds,

pouncing through your brain like a train of memories.

The past feels as if you touched something old with a new shiny layer.

Hiding in the rain, coming out on a bright sunny day.

The past holds like jello, put together yet mushy and swishy;

you can hold it in your hand like a small jar of lightning bugs used as a nightlight.
