Hero
She's sitting alone once more,
but this time, unlike before,
I join her
she smiles
not uttering a word
I smile and wonder for a while,
why she sits alone?
The next day I do the same
something in her eye changed
she looks confused yet delighted,
and it was so.
5 days pass,
still, not a single word spoken
The silence is broken by a single hum,
a tune so lovely
I dare not interupt
the hum gets louder, its her voice
heard for the first time and as beautiful as can be
A single statement uttered so short yet so meaningful
"thank you for saving me."
