Deep Down
When I look at the sky, I look at it for you.
As if with enough attention, I could take it in for you.
Maybe in further days, I can look back,
To the days where,
Things were easier, more simple.
When little plastic toys, took up my time.
Remembering the times we had together,
I cherish them deeply, miss them uncontrollably,
But now its so difficult,
But deep down,
I know that you love me with all your heart,
And I love you the same.
But our minds change like seasons,
Like the beautiful fall leaves changing colors.
The mind can do crazy things,
Unimaginable, terrific things.
But unlike yours, mine functions differently,
Like an old clock on the mantle.
Your love runs deep within my veins,
Flowing inside me, like a raging river.
But now, you aren’t you,
You have become something new.
A scary, terrifying disturbance in my head,
As much as you may love me,
You hurt me deep down beneath my skin,
Deeper than the roots of an oak.
Still, you do everything for me,
Because I know deep, deep down,
You will always love me.
