Hopefully you are successful, succeeded your dreams, and are truly happy.

Hopefully you received the care and education you have always desired

and succeeded the American dream

Hopefully you feel comfort and warmth as you enter your beautiful home

And are embraced by your family

Made your parents proud and yourself proud

Wherever you are, you have come far

you defeated all the tough obstacles

that life enjoys to throw at us.

We are like life's puppets

Constantly dancing to the instructions given

wherever you may be or wherever you may go,

never forget what put you there.

Never forget the struggle your parents struggle as they got you to the country

The country that has given you the opportunity to blossom and expand your wings

Never forget the sweat that would drip off of your fathers forehead

that working at a factory caused him

Or the sore feet he would come home with

Never forget your mothers exhausted body

She worked all day and still worked at home

Regardless of what they were feeling

they still gave you love and support

The love and support that has set the foundation of who you are

Your parents were the architectures of your life

Planned out the foundation and the beams of support

And you were the simple builder

For that you owe them the world

So be as free as a bird

But as strong as a lion

As powerful as an Eagle

But as sensitive as a butterfly

Be you

But be thankful

And never forget who got you there

I am currently a student at Godinez High School and for this assignment I wanted to dedicate this poem to future me and thank my parents as well.
