My Culture
We are on the way up the huge Mayan pyramid
Behind us our past with suffering
And past family members fighting
While we continue fighting for equality
In our future we can see the top
But the steep slick steps
Try to trip and tire us out
But we'll keep on going
Even when things keep coming up
Like our own kind bringing us down with mistakes
But we look to clouds knowing
We will fly with the elusive bald eagle up in the clouds
Even with problems we will keep going
We are the raging river running through the grand canyon
So we feel like we should be treated fairly
Though many of us are content the way that we are
But we should keep going
Because the Grand Canyon is good but it can get deeper and better
And how we can see the the old ground of the grand canyon
We will see the old Aztec great city of Tenochtitlan
