january
i spread myself thin so fingers of light
can go through quietly
a heavenly disconnect /
a land of cornfield and spirits
i've been looking for someone to blame, but you're too easy. you’re
too much gone when you laugh
i pull it out of my chest, warbled
and dripping like an infant
you move around me / fists red with the shape of my mouth
there's nothing you can hurt me with that i don't already know.
please let me have this like all the other things that i own
dirty and fought over and surrogate for a place i can't quite recall
where everything is warmer /
where you can say my name.
