Rainy Day Blues

Such a dreary day makes me want to stay in bed; 
nevertheless, the livestock outside still needs tending on the homestead. 
I carrying buckets of feed through the muck and the mud. 
The cattle are spooked as the lightning and thunder gives off a great thud.  
After chores are done, I’ll spend the rest of the day in the workshop  
while the rain keeps coming down nonstop. 
Days like today give me the blues,  
maybe I’ll hop in the truck and go for a cruise.

I am Rebecca, I was raised on my family farm. I never get out of chores-rain or shine-which is what led me to write this piece.
