Dear A,

You remember the day we met. I love when you retell the story. It was our freshman year and you told me you liked my burgundy converse. I replied with a smile. I pretend I don’t remember the day we met because I know it makes you crazy.

But the truth is, I do remember. Every detail. When you speak you are so magnetic. A slight brush of your shoulder on mine created a spark that only I felt. I liked to believe you felt it too sometimes.

The color of your eyes were both green and blue but sometimes gray in the sunlight. Locking eyes in the hallway gave me butterflies. They’d even flutter at the sound of your name.

I melted like an icecream when you smiled. The little gap in your two front teeth is probably the cutest thing about you. The amount of moles on your face couldn’t compare to the freckles on mine, but it was a close second.

Whenever you were around my blood started to rush. My ginger complexion didn’t help disguise the fact that you made me nervous. My cheeks were flushed. You told me it was beautiful once, my rosy face. You said it reminded you of cotton candy.

I still think about you, but I fell down to earth and got my head out of the clouds. You will always be my first love, even if you never know it.

Love,

Eileen <3
