A poster from a long-

since forgotten concert

hangs off the walls

from the corners, inside invert-

ed. Polaroids possess pieces

of nostalgic memories.

Clad in pink, we smiled

Something I haven’t

done in a while

Too late,  I tell myself

as I sketch near

my flooded bookshelves

adjacent to deteriorating

sneakers thrown haphazardly

on the ground

worn and tattered

juxtaposed to floppy bunny

slippers. Items found

with just my eyes

in the dead of night:

Harry Potter paraphernalia,

liberty bell keychain

from road trips to Pennsylvania,

messy colorful sketches

by innocent hands,

Still green succulents

Sitting on a white desk,

And somewhere in

midst of it all,

euphoria.
