I wake up every morning
I put my hand over my heart
I say The Pledge of Allegiance
Then I take a moment of silence
I wake up every morning
And thank God for all of our soldiers
Who risked their lives at war
To protect our freedoms and our borders
I wake up every morning
Look at the American flag
With its broad stripes and bright stars
Say The Pledge of Allegiance, and take a moment of silence
I wake up every morning
And because of our soldiers
Those who protect the flag and me
I know I’m free
