Lies
Your words, they sit there on my tongue.
Thick, hollow, and sickly sweet.
They remind me of all the songs I've not yet sung,
You'd think that poison would be more discreet.
Disguised as medecine, they sit alone there,
Frightening, but oh so condescending.
Your poison looked different in my nightmares,
Snakes in my mind, twisting and bending.
Instead a venom masked with flavor,
Your words, they hurt me still.
Your punishment a formidable endeavor,
But your anger is meant to kill.
