Glass Breaking
4:00 A.M. Night Skys
Stars floating in your eyes,
Nearly drifting off in a field of flowers
I could stay here for hours,
praying it’ll never end
Love to my heart, it sends
Watching the clouds drift south
I can’t help but think about,
A time when I was fine
I was four, my dad was kind.
Though soon the sun will rise
Putting the stars in disguise,
Masking the beauty of the dark
The birds chirp, the dogs bark
For hours I have to wait
To see the change from night to day,
To watch the moon rise
To see stars splatter across the skys
Though light drifts unto the waters
Hot water pouring over cold glass, shattering the dark
My anxiety gathers.
