See yourself

Reflect

Head to toe

Toe to head

What happens when you reach to center

Will it be dark or light

Will it be happy or sad

Will you find a mirror

with beauty in front of it or a crack down the center

Will you be happy with that person

When you reflect do you see

Mistakes or Beauty

Can there be both

Or neither

When I take a look at myself

I see cuts and bruises

I see tears engraved into my face

I see bashed in skull

I see broken feet

But I can also see

My eyes a portal to another realm

My fingers that produced this piece

My legs never letting me down

My soul

The mix of both

Is what makes me

Now what makes you

See you

I wrote this when I started to see beauty in myself, but still got caught up on my mistakes.

WOW! This is a really great poem. I really liked the part where you contrasted what you saw, the good and the bad. My favorite lines are "I see tears engraved into my face" and "my legs never letting me down." Keep up the good work!
