A Fool's Errand
to care too much is terror,
feeling none is cold
why must it be so retched
to have another hold
your heart in their hands,
to expose its imperfections
the wounds, the mould,
blood tainted by dirt
and missing bits, sold?
loving is easy
and simple, all told,
but giving up a heart
is more foolhardy than bold.
