Just My Name
You say you know me
But how could you possibly
When you only know the way my name sounds
As it falls from the lips of another
You could never imagine
The nights I’ve seen turn to mornings
As the stars finish their games,
The moon lingering long enough to whisper Her sweet, faint good bye.
No you don’t know me
Until you hear my sleepy thoughts
Tumbling through the midnight air
Learn how my love runs deep as the ocean
And as vast as our endless space.
Feel my loneliness creep about,
Playing with the weight I carry around,
Learn why I hug so tight and maybe then
You could say
You really know me
But maybe then
You’ll wish you never did.
