The Dock
Mismatched
Wooden planks
Stretch
Far along the sound
Moonlight
Gleams off of
The water
Not another
Soul
Around
Splinters
Poke
From underneath
Nothing
Silence can’t
Repair
I sit here
Reflecting
As a
Breeze
Disrupts
My hair
Boats sway
Tied up
Tight
On hefty
Wooden
Blocks
Through the
Night
Moonlight
Now blocked
By your
Shadow
Disappears
Rain
Drops
And
Time
Stops
All
My
Fears
Have washed
Away

I think that this poem will evoke a sense of peace for readers because of the calming sensory words used throughout. It was written about a life-changing experience that made me put into perspective what was important to me.
