Growing Older
Every year you get older,
Time goes by.
Nothing stops moving,
But you when you look back.
Your six,
Dragons are your thing.
Now your a preteen,
All you care about is you.
You are seventeen,
All you want is a girl.
Time is going by,
You don’t have time to blink.
You are officially 21,
You can drink.
Your 30,
And you are married,
With a baby on the way.
You feel the nine months,
Were the longest you have ever waited.
The baby is finally born.
She starts to grow,
Before your eyes,
And the next thing you know she is seven.
All she wants is to be a princess,
And you give her the world.
You want to stop time,
To keep her young,
And not grow up.
But time doesn’t stop,
Just for you.
She’s growing before your eyes,
And you don’t know what to do.
Suddenly she is eleven,
But her mom falls ill.
Her mom can’t fight it,
But she tells her,
Always keep fighting.
A year goes by,
And another.
Finally, the mom is gone,
But she is never truly gone,
Until you forget.
She is fourteen,
And I’m 34.
I have learned time won’t stop,
But keeps going,
So you can make new memories.
She is 26,
Just finished college.
I’m 56,
And can’t wait for her to come home.
She’s home,
Haven’t seen her in awhile,
Going to have fun,
But she brought someone with her.
She introduces us,
Apparently, it’s her fiance.
Since when did my baby girl grow up,
I remember just yesterday,
She was in my arms.
A year later,
They are married.
On their honeymoon,
She becomes pregnant,
Soon I will be a grandpa.
I would give the guy advice,
But let him experience everything on his own.
It's time,
And it's a girl,
They name her Mae.
Mae has taken my heart,
Just like her mother did,
And no one will ever hurt her.

The reason I wrote this piece is that it explains the life of a boy growing up and having a life.
