Dysfunctional
I couldn't take it anymore.
The fighting,
the pain,
the stress,
the unhappiness.
It all just breaks me more.
A dysfunctional mess,
my family is.
We rarely get along,
it’s like listening to a dog bark all day.
I knew the sadness creeping down my back,
would one day crack.
So I packed up my life
and left late at night.
Headed to the airport,
in hopes of catching a flight.
I am scared and unsure,
the fighting,
the pain,
the stress,
the unhappiness,
has pushed me too far.
Creating the need,
to get out of that dysfunctional home.

I wrote this piece for my creative writing class. While writing it, I realized how much I love it and how much it means to me. I never got the chance to post it before but I wanted to as soon as possible and I hope people enjoy it.
