Longing
Faith be forgiven;
For you slipped
away from my creed.
Doubt be dispelled;
For you insinuated
yourself into my seed.
Were it not for my burning
that wouldn’t recede.
My soul long
would have be freed.
I confess to wallowing
in my own standing in need
for passion and affection,
for romance indeed.
Yet yearning and longing
were easy to feed.
Thus my cravings
I couldn’t impede.
