Washington D.C
Washington D.C.
a place for learning and leisure
People walking around
Enjoying frozen treats on a hot day
Kids learning how rockets work
Cherry blossoms in bloom.
many places to stop and enjoy
Madame Tussauds
a well renowned place
the figures look like mere reflections.
One look at their face
And you wouldn't be sure they were fake.
The Smithsonian
Is a place to learn
About the waters in the deep
Or the animals extinct.
Spiders from nightmares on show
Or see
Martha Washington's dress from 1789.
The Memorials are a wonderful thing
Honoring and remembering
Wars, and past leaders and people who
Made history.
And to learn from the past
For we were
Not always the land of the free
Or the home of the brave.
People who sacrificed
For our country
To be what it is today.
