My Dearest

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I've shot myself dead,
Not really,
But I wish it were true.
Life has no meaning,
Except when you're singing.
You only sing
When I'm not there.
You sing so beautifully,
As if you've no care.
So I'll make it quick.
You'll forever be happy
When the last thing I hear
Is that small 'click'
As I point to my ear.
