Driving down a deserted highway

the feeling, it sets in

The clouds over the sky, covering what should be day

you know what has been, now it's all a sin

It was all a memeory, unforgettable, unfortunately

The pictures replay on the windshield

you are now in a field

These moments should be sealed

Driving down a deserted highway

the feeling, it sets in

you remember everything

slowly, reminiscing

Nostalgia wafts through the air

the rain starts to fly from the sky

you are everywhere

you are nowhere

you feel everything

you feel nothing

Driving down a deserted highway

the feeling, it sets in

You think, with this rain pouring down

A walk would be refreshing

the rain, it could cleanse

Take away the memories

the moments, the emotion

It could erase the pain

wash away this emotional stain

yet, you can't refrain

Walking down a deserted highway

the rain kisses your cheek

This life is bleak

The rain needs to was it away

It doesn't

Its still there, always there

In the back of your mind

All of it on rewind

in defeat, you retreat

back in the car, now not only wet with rain

but with tears

just dripping in the deserted highway

utterly alone

lost and devastated

The land has no comfort

so you just stare out

eyes almost glazed

as if you're in a haze

your senses are rendered

Now, all you can do is remember
