Chasers
Sink it deep into your heart
  now there’s a start
  Bleed all over the floor
  they say they want more
  out let it pour
  Never enough of that stuff
(don’t think hard enough to realize it’s a bluff)
How could I give you more than my insides?
they turn and pierce through, down where it hides
Backed up into the farthest corner, seeing them reeling
a drop of ice cascades through the ceiling
Hide away, get out of sight
reach, grasp, push will all of your might
  Running, falling anywhere
find a way to get them out of your hair
Anything to keep it from under the knife
the thing that gives you life
What if it’s taken, what if it’s gone
then you’ll see how empty you were all along
  But you’re paces ahead
maybe they’ll think of something else instead
The limbs of the clock still won’t stop
jump over the void and reach a dead end lock
Slowly slide your eyes to what’s behind
empty space gazes back, one of every kind
Nothing was ever there, never anything at all
just the all-telling mirror on the far side of the wall
