Breathing Life
  Such a thing to see
  A breathing bond of ecstasy
  Shadowed within her faraway eyes
Sparkling with tears that never dry
  The water flows
  the flowers grow
  But nothing can ever change
  A look so down
  her permanent frown
  a forever unwinding phase

  many could see
that she may be in need
of a warm and friendly hand
  But stuck in their lives
  nobody obliged
  to an unfamiliar demand

  How could one so young
  ever overcome
The place from whence she came?
  a place with no life
  only anger and strife
  with nobody else to blame

Explanation: This is a poem about the selfishness of society, too caught up in their own lives to truly understand the pain that others may be going through. The girl in this poem represents suffering and the people who pass her by without a second glance represent what we have become.
