Conflicted
She listens very carefully
And yet never seems to know
I need it to feel like myself
It helps me to let go

 Two of my greatest loves
 Conflicting day to day
Like a child who wants to sleep
 But also wants to play

 She bursts into my room
 A vengeful storm enraged
 Angrily ruins both at once
The majestic animal can’t be caged

And then as quick as she began
 She’s gone without a trace
 Leaving me in deafening silence
 And feeling out of place

 But a love so bittersweet
 Plagues my too soft heart
We’re still close despite the hate
She has for my favorite art
