Grey Skies
The rain is
 Falling hard
 I squint my eyes
 To see in the dark
 And through the hail
 Two or three
 People are
 Approaching me
 I turn around
 To walk away
 I don’t want
 To fall prey
 Or be thrown
 Into the fray
 Of men like them
 Who always play
 With people who can’t
 Fight back
 But I promise
 If they attack
 I won’t fall
 Down
 Like a princess
 In a gown
 Who can barely
 Hold her own crown
 I seem them as they
 Come close
 It starts raining harder
 The wind blows
 Lightning splits
 The grey sky
 I see their faces
 For the first time
 No more words
 Can describe
 How hard
  I really tried
 To get free
 And escape
 The bringers
 Of my fate
