"I have not yet begun to fight!"
John Paul Jones

I was sick, I was tired
Like a burned out light
I’m not rising any higher,
Just can’t get this right.
Then there came a whisper
From the darkness of the night
Saying ‘Do you surrender?’
And I replied:
I have not yet
Begun
To fight.
I can so do this
‘Cause this is my dream
And I’m not giving it up,
Not for anything.
I came here with a goal
And I’ll see it through
Take the easy way out?
Something’s wrong with you.
I’m not giving up,
Not for all my might.
I might not win,
But at least I’ll fight.
I hold to my ideals
With a long white plume,
I’ve got dreams to build
I’ve got things to do.
It will take a lot of work,
But it can be done,
So I’m going to finish
What I have begun.
And so I’ll steal the fire
From that Tiger burning bright
And with it set ablaze
All that dark, dark night.
Then I’ll scatter all the embers
Up to burn as the stars
And I’ll look back on today
Say I’ve come so far.
Pick up my moxie
Laying on the floor
Sew it back together
Forge it into a sword.
And let my enemies beware
That burning silver blade:
'Cause Its name is Courage,
And it’s been remade.
I’ll keep on fighting
With my sword in hand
Be a Brave New Girl
In a Brave New World
A knight in shining armor
Hidden in my pen.
And so I’ll steal the fire
From that Tiger burning bright
And with it set ablaze
All that dark, dark night.
Then I’ll scatter all the embers
Up to burn as the stars
And I’ll look back on today
See I’ve come so far.
Pick up my moxie
Sew it back together
Forge it into a sword
That I know will last forever
And let my enemies beware
That burning silver blade:
Its name is Courage,
And it’s been remade.
Someday you’ll see a picture
Hanging on the wall
I’ll be in the middle
Standing straight and tall.
Reaching for the stars?
No, I’ll be reaching higher
And beneath it reads the caption:
Prometheus
Stealing Fire.
