Passing On
You don’t know what it is
 Until you truly experience it,
When someone close to you goes on
And you have to stay behind,
I’ve watched them come and live...
 I’ve even watched them go
They leave me with a hole in my heart,
An empty space that will never be filled
People say things will get better,
But how can they be better
When the person I cared so much about
Will never experience the better things with me,
I don’t know what is to come
And that scares me all the time
Maybe one day I’ll see them once more
But until then, the hole will stay open...
And I won’t be whole again
