Failure
They marred me
 Said there was no beauty
 In fragility
 They loaded a burden
 On my frail shoulders
 Told me I would strengthen
Under the weight of the boulders
 Now I’m left
 With two broken shoulders
 I weep

 They tell me crying
Is not the way of soldiers
 They tell me
 I will not make it
 If I should forsake it
 So I must carry
 Twice the amount of boulders
 On these broken shoulders

 Weakening my weakness
 In pursuit of strength
 I die by the day
 I use all my effort
 Chasing my weakness away
Success is just a step ahead
But both feet have turned to lead
 My only hope
 Is to take the path
 Of least resistance and pray
 That success
 Is only a detour away.

 The finality of failure
 Gnaws at my mind
 But giving up the fight
Is the only solace I find
I know they’ll call me weak
 When I fall behind
