Go: A swimming poem
ON THE BLOCK
 My coach: “Are you ready?”
 Me: “I think so.”
 The whistle blows
 She shouts, “GO GO!”
 I dive in
 I’m swimming fast
 Way too fast
 I’m running out of gas
  I can’t swim
 But I got to try
 I turn my head
 I think I’m gonna die
 Not going to make it
 Hit the wall
 They pulled me out
 Done after them all
 PRACTICE NEXT DAY
 Got to try
 Got to try
 My coach:
 “C’mon, it’s time for Fly.”
 I dove I raced
 I swam I turned
 But I still lose
 My coach concerned
 She says to chill
 Just take a break
 I almost give in
 Cause all over I ache
 But I stand up tall
 And shake my head
 If I don’t push through
 I’ll never get ahead
 Tears are falling
 But I can’t rest
 If I don’t work,
 I don’t get my best
 I can’t ever give up
 I can’t ever give in
I have to try, but I
 don’t have to win
 Never gonna stop
  till I reach my best
 Next day on the blocks
 “Are you ready?”
  “Yes.”
