Ballad of Brian
I never knew a father’s hand,
No guiding voice was there,
But then you came and took that place,
With love enough to share.
You laugh with me, you hear my words,
You show me how to stand,
Through every storm, you’ve been the one
To reach and hold my hand.
The world once left me full of ache,
A hole I couldn’t fill,
But Brian, you became the light,
The father I have still.
Not blood, but heart, that’s stronger yet,
A bond no loss can sever,
For you’re my friend, my steady guide,
My dad I’ll have forever.
