The Grind
I spend my hours toiling away
For a slight gain upon the day
In a team or in solitude
I work for my rank now renewed
No matter what small part I play
I try my best in every way
Though I sometimes will win and lose
I always go join some more queues
The match begins, the stakes are set
I choose my best with no regrets
The pressure builds, the trigger’s tight
We’re locked and loaded for the fight
Each match a clash of wit and aim
No two fights ever feel the same
I charge ahead, I fall behind
Yet still I battle, still I grind
A hundred rounds, a hundred falls
And I answer yet another call
Every game lost, a new found fear
Every match won, a new loud cheer
When the struggle is said and done
I now see how far I have come
At last I lay my head to rest
Knowing that I had done my best
