Cingulomania

Be the coursing waves of the North Sea;

To strike as a viper at the heart of me

Be in the light of the stars when flames are out,

And hold full like the cage of a willow tree

Be the curiosity of Adam in the wake of Eve;

To dig for your knowledge aimlessly

Be a caress with the tune of a siren’s song,

But love, please don’t pull me under thee.

I wrote this poem over a course of days, between classes and in random bursts; scribbling out and replacing lines. I still do not believe it is perfect, but I like to use poetry to convey emotions where regular speech cannot.
