The Ideals and Philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi
It was the time of Exams and there I sat studying,
When my eyes fell upon an old man Smiling.
Strikingly Different was the expression in his Eyes,
That suddenly I felt Guilty of all My Lies.
My Mind wandered through all my History Notes,
Remembering all his Ideals, Principles and Quotes.
Remembering the one who helped, set us free,
The one who planted the Tree,
Of Ahimsa, of Satya, of Sarvodaya, of Swaraj and such,
The one who was Brave and Bold Enough to make decisions as Such.
These were the four main principles which he Taught,
Same were the Principles for which he fought.
His deeds were Worth his Name and Fame,
The one who made his life to all a Message.
The who was the Enlightened One,
The won who won Wars without Swords and Gun.
A gentle Human with a Rare Philosophy,
Left his Imprints in the Archives of History.
Ahimsa was what he followed and brought a bloodless Revolution,
Without which our Country wouldn’t be a Nation.
His message to us is Simple and Clear,
If ignored the Price we must pay is indeed Dear,
Discriminate not by Creed or Caste,
Stand United and be an Indian from First breath to Last.
Such are the Ideals that he preached till his Last.
With Love was he called ‘Bapuji’ by all,
Selflessly left he at his Mother’s Call.
Leaving Sadness in our Hearts so Deep,
The Saint who brought Hope to all Including the Weak.
