Favorite Quote:
"The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast." - Oscar Wilde

There’s a boy that I know called Fernweh

And he calls to me at night

He holds tight my hand, whisp’ring promises grand

As biplanes go barrelling by

There’s a girl that I know called Fernweh

And at day she shares my stride

She kisses my cheek, yes she makes my knees weak

As sunlight soon starts to subside

There’s a love in my life called Fernweh

I adore them more than they’ll know

I watch as they leave me behind in the evening

And I dare to dream I might go

The German word Fernweh has no direct English translation though it's similar to that of the word wanderlust. Instead of referring to a desire to travel as with wanderlust, Fernweh describes a need to travel and be away from home. It's considered to be the polar opposite of homesicknesses.
