Step by Step
July 7, 1993
Was the day that life met me
My sister laying at my side
As we breathed the breath of life
 Three months early at arrival
No one thought we would survive
There we were at four years old
Graduating preschool, part of the world
One year later I started school
I was scared but made it through
The time flew by like nothing at all
High school came like a speeding ball
Now we're the small fish once again
Swimming in a sea of confusion and fun
Next I'll graduate and go off to college
Tears will flow as I wave goodbye
My heart will ache and seek a companion
We'll get married, start a family
Watch the time fly quickly by me
After that I'll be gray-haired and old
But loving life like it is gold...
