As of right now it`s,
"For all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.'" -John Greenleaf Whittier

If it`s a poem you wish

A poem it`ll be.

Perhaps about a fiendish fish

Or the sinusoidal sea.

Great kingdoms at war,

Knights in shinging armor.

Or verses of romantic adore,

Hoping it`ll charm her.

Graceful ballerinas all in a row,

The pianist plays his artful bliss.

A fierce game of tic-tac-toe,

Divers venturing into an oceanic abyss.

So which poems really count?

I`ll tell you what poetry can be.

Poetry is anything you write down,

If your words are true and free.

The author's comments:

I don`t write poetry often, so this is one of my first attempts at writing a "real" poem. It`s a very simple rhyming poem. I would love some feedback!
