Flames
We were just two sad people upset about the same idea. The idea that we were so close to being happy with the person who cared about us least, who lead us on for far longer than we realized.
you are the small child I always had to keep away from the fire, and yet you still got too close and touched the flames and got burned.
I was the person who knew he needed to stay away from the flame, but was so willing to get hurt, the flames looked so pretty and gentle at night they kept me warm and comfortbale, but by morning the flames blended to the dry hot sky, the beauty I once saw was no longer there.
