The 9 musty inches of tan tearing leather
Brush, yet grind up against the floor so elegantly
The dull dark spots that form all around,
Give the acidic sole some character
Where one has turned
Jumped
Crashed
And dragged themselves across a floor
While the tan tearing leather was gripped around them
Hugging them
Making them feel safe and secure with their own steps
