The Other End of the Phone
I see America in trouble, scared and clenching their phone to dial 911
I see a 911 operator calmly and quickly answering
I see the internal struggle of the operator helping this American
I see them clearly assessing the stressful situation
I see the operator alerting the correct authorities without hesitation
I see them sitting, waiting, and listening for any critical information that may come up
I see this situation of panic and chaos gradually becoming resolved because of this operator
I lastly see behind the phone,
The office is filled with supporters, ready to help their friends,
There to help the operator through the call and them always willing to also support them.

I wrote this because I feel like 911 operators are underappreciated and not given enough gratitude for what they do. They are such wonderful people and without them, many lives would not have been saved.
