Wear Truth Away
Falling, dripping, off the tongue,
Words so sweet, together strung,
Lies the truth will one day shroud,
Forgotten 'neath the faults that cloud.
Like footprints upon the shore,
Swept by waves forevermore,
The truth is left upon the sand,
And swept by lies that stroke the land.
And like the sea that stone defeats,
Crashing spray with fury beats,
Faults that lead the truth astray,
Will, in time, wear truth away.
