Perfectly Imperfect
My hair has a mind of its own
It has a mighty reputation for curling
Its fingers around my throat
People have their notions
About my perfectly imperfect body
And about how they lay up their hate
And about how they grudge against me
Like tar on a wet dog
I am a desert
Dry dark and desolate
Its killing me
Then the air cut through my veins
Then i take a gentle breath
Giving a great groan of pure ecstatic
Intimate comfort
I realize i am perfectly impefect
I am like the wind in your hair
Curling fingers around your body
I am the current that never stops running
They cannot knock me down
Even if a bulldozer came rushing through
I am the quiet eye of the hurricane
