MANIFESTO: poetry
MANIFESTO: poetry
aim: to express yourself fully, free from the burdens of societal pressure, standards, and judgment
axioms of the liberated mind on paper:
1. Your thoughts belong to you; others’ opinions should be of little importance.
2. Your weaknesses are your greatest source of creativity.
3. The identity you formulate through your work may differ from that of which you present to the world; this does not make you ingenuine.
4. Let yourself grow but don’t force yourself to change.
5. Don’t inhibit your creativity by limiting yourself to one side of the coin. It is a coin, nevertheless, meaning every opposite is similar in some way. You can be anything and everything, yet still be nothing at all.
6. Life is anything but seamless happiness. Let the hypocrisy of the world bleed through your work and splatter your pages with the raw truth.
7. Write about your struggles and if writing is your struggle, write about that, too. However, never forget your triumphs.
instructions for use: Do what is natural to you. If these guidelines are not it, completely disregard.
