I hadn't paid attention
The boundary between east and west
Desolate and dangerous
A shyness as though I crashed a party
I felt unwanted in this land
If we stay
I would recognize it as a warning disregarded
If we stay
I could tell many stories about faithful animals
It set up mysterious responses in me

Paced restlessly
In this freighted time
Mysterious responses in me
outraged
I was not prepared for the bad lands
For more mystic feelings
Overloaded spring cries
Lips scaly as snakeskins
The silence
The silence continued
I went into a state of flight

It was so beautiful
Just as I felt unwanted in this land
The strange landscaped shouted with color
It was so beautiful
As the sun angled
For the stars were close
The night was friendlier than the day
To hear the excited crackle of the branches
I can easily see how people were driven back
The night, far from being frightful
Lovely beyond thought
