badlands to good lands
The night was loaded with omens
It was as mysterious as an evil child
In North Dakota
The grieving sky turned the little water to a dangerous metal
The land tore viciously at my tires
In North Dakota
It was a wind strange to me
Mysterious
Dry, Desolate, Dangerous
I paced restlessly
In North Dakota
And then the sun began to set
Goodland
I walked up the wind-warped path
It was lovely beyond thought
The land was trapped in color
The light was a rich glow
Dazzled by the clarity of light
Goodland
Pure ecstatic comfort
The Night was like a battlement, clean-lined and straight
Goodland
