I am here
I am here
The day went too fast, all like a blur
He told me I was astonishing, like nothing he’s seen before
Then vanished without a trace
The car smelled like smoke
As I could no longer see
My hands tied back
A struggle to remove
I am here
The big bright windows were never a sign
No one ever noticed what went on behind
I am here
Alone in the dark
On the concrete floor
The bruises and cuts
While I said no more
I am here
Why can’t you see me
My child and I, we live here together
How are these big windows not a sign
I stand at watch the cops drive by
The missing sign on the tree to the right
I am here
Can’t you see
By the time you find me
I don’t know where I’ll be
But please just look because
I am here.
