Anthem
If i could have an experience to be teacher, my goal for my students would be to face their reality. According to Ayn Rand, individual happiness is the highest good in life. Anthem is a diary of a young man, who lives in a society or world by which their future is lost. I believe, everybody is alike and nobody defies their will as a dictator. If any teenager would have a characteristic such as Equality; they wouldn’t fall to resist toward any negative peer pressure. The book, Anthem, should be read to all teenagers. Also, addresses issues that people from this world we living are facing at some point in their life.
Anthem contains many elements that appeal strongly to young readers. It is an inspiring story with heroic characters risking their lives for their ideals. It portrays events with grand significances. Challenging readers on what to decide or not on what the world should be like. Anthem raises ethical and political issues are beginning to realize a critical importance in society, life, and faith. “Who am I” is asked, if we could use a society to have, what should we choose? Anthem serves an introduction to what Ayn Rand called her romantic realist approach to literature. Her fiction is romantic because she portrays “not the random trivia of the day”, “ The timeless, Fundamental existence”.
Rand knew that no person can ever know enough to be successful in planning toward other people live. I believe, everyone and anyone are capable of doing anything without having anything bring them down because they will have the courage to believe in themselves. Teaching the importance of self-expression and freedom to which comes along with being your own person and having to hide who you truly are from the inside and the outside. Choosing paths that are the best for us. The word “we” is used throughout the book, Anthem, to directly relate the society in this novel, taking away individualism from people. Anthem is a novel needed to be taught to high scholars.
