Most devastating storm.

Maximum wind speeds of 110 mph.
An outbreak of leptospirosis.
Children screaming from hunger.
Almost 90% of the island’s supermarkets are open
but most of the island still lacks power.
All of Puerto Rico is without power.
Puerto Rico residents
returning to an unfamiliar place.
Surgery performed with cell phones as flashlights.
Trump has made it clear that he will not be providing support indefinitely.
Surrounded by big water, ocean water.
They condemned the federal government's emergency response.
It's a delicate dance.
We are in a state of emergency.
We are waiting.
We are dying here.

There are more stories of
survival
and hope
coming from Puerto Rico.
Tens of thousands of bulk of
ground beef, chicken, carrots, beans
plus rice, peanut butter, canned fruits.
Tesla has restored reliable electricity
at San Juan’s Hospital del Niño.
The lights are on,
the staff is busy,
and the patients are grateful.
When it comes to saving lives,
we are all part of one community.
